Eurostar recently announced an increase in the number of business travellers on the popular train service that links London to Paris and Brussels. Experts believe business traveller numbers will continue to increase over the coming months (1). In response, Post Office Travel Insurance is recommending that business travellers do not overlook the importance of ensuring they are covered by travel insurance for business trips both in the UK and abroad.

While many customers may only consider travel insurance to be a priority for holidays, travel insurance is just as important for business journeys. Travel insurance can, for example, cover for delays or illness, which results in business travellers missing a train connection or flight.

However, Post Office Travel Insurance recommends that business travellers check their personal or company’s travel insurance policy to ensure they are covered for all possibilities including damage or theft, as cover may vary for business equipment of high value - such as a laptops or Blackberrys.

High value items may require additional cover on top of standard travel insurance policies, so Post Office Travel Insurance suggests that business travellers consider all the equipment they will be carrying on their trip, and check that they are fully covered and make sure they have the appropriate level of travel insurance cover.
