The BTAs, often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry, is the largest travel awards programme in the UK with 100,000 households casting their vote this year.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “This year more than one million votes were cast by consumers to determine the winners of the coveted British Travel Awards. The Awards were created to reward travel companies, with the winning accolade being the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business of travel for the UK consumer. Simpson Travel is to be congratulated on their achievement.”
Graham Simpson, founder and managing director of Simpson commented on the win: “We have had an excellent season and are delighted to end the year on such a high note. Our ethos at Simpson has always remained unchanged – service, knowledge, and a real passion for what we do. We are very proud to receive this recognition and would like to thank all our loyal guests who voted for us.”
These two accolades follow recent award wins for Simpson Travel, who was named Best Online Booking Service in the 2012 Guardian and Observer Readers’ Travel Awards and made Condé Nast Traveller’s coveted World’s Top 100 list.
