As one of human’s closest primates, many similarities between the chimp and human have been discovered over the years, from the ability to communicate to behavioural patterns.

Now a recent study has found that simians also suffer from a midlife crisis, just like humans. Scientists found that hundreds of chimps, orang-utans and apes also get depressed in their middle years after they studied 508 simians living in zoos throughout the world.

Their well-being was assessed by those that were familiar with the individual apes and found that while they start their life positive, once they hit middle age they became depressed. Those that reached old age would gradually get out of their depression and be happier again.

As admirers of our closest cousin, the chimpanzee, 8 Ball have introduced a new vintage t-shirt depicting the primate at its coolest. The new men’s t shirt features a black and white photograph of a chimp relaxing in a t-shirt that says swag, while holding a cigarette.

The 8 Ball original is available in grey, blue, white and yellow in small to extra large and is a timelessly cool design that is not available anywhere on the high street.

The design adds to a growing number of retro inspired designs by the brand inspired by music, film, tv and video games as well as old photographs.

8 Ball is a leading online retailer of unique t-shirts, delivering thousands of items to UK customers in a huge range of different sizes and designs. From funny slogans to classic rock logos, Banksy Tshirts and retro t shirts inspired by pop culture, the tees on offer from the company appeal to all generations and can be printed to order.
