London, UK (PRWEB UK) 4 January 2013
On Wednesday 14th November 2012, Wisteria attended the Annual BCCA Conference in Manchester; the conference was undoubtedly an overwhelming success. Wisteria are a leading firm of payday lending accountants and have been providing services to a large segment of the market over the last five years. Alongside attending the Conference itself, Wisteria Chartered Accountants were privileged to attend the Chairman’s Drinks Reception and the Chairman’s Dinner by special invitation.
Chartered Accountant, Mr Andrew Millet founded Wisteria in 2002. Wisteria Ltd specialises in Accountancy, Tax, Business Plans, Company Secretarial and Company Formations services. Wisteria Chartered Accountants provides services for a wide range of clients, however, they specialise particularly in accountancy and tax services for payday lending, pawn broking and postal gold businesses. Wisteria act for a large number of payday lending clients – some of which are based in the UK and others in the US; these firms range from new start-ups to established market leaders.
The location of the annual BCCA conference 2012 was at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, situated in Manchester. Wisteria have been frequent attendees of the BCCA Conference (formerly the British Cheque Cashers Association) for the past 3 years. Year on year, the event itself has expanded significantly – the 2012 conference was the BCCA’s largest and most extravagant event to date.
The BCCA is a trade association which represents businesses providing unsecured short term loans (such as payday loans) or third party cheque cashing services. The BCCA were established in 1994 and consequently has almost 20 years experience in the industry, additionally they carry a loyal membership following of over 800 firms.
The title of the 2012 BCCA conference was “Survival of the Fittest” – this is a suitably pertinent heading, in an industry which has come under great political and media scrutiny over the past twelve months. Additionally, there are a wide range of controversial issues surrounding the short term unsecured credit industry. Appearing in the news only today was a headline from the Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) cautioning payday lenders to follow the new industry code of conduct.
As well as attending the conference, Wisteria also regularly provide expert content for the BCCA newsletter, a publication with increasing annual circulation. Chartered Tax Adviser and partner of Wisteria, Nick Tagg, comments that “Wisteria is proud to be a close affiliate with the BCCA; both of our organisations have joint motives in supporting the best interests of payday lending clients.”
