London Southend Airport was chosen ahead of a hundred others across Europe as the best airport for customer service, according to a survey of 26,000 passengers by EasyJet.
It scored 92% in the satisfaction survey that rated the customer experience on a number of factors such as check in process, punctuality and boarding procedure. A total of 95% said they were satisfied with the airport, 98% with the length of time they had to wait at the check in and 100% were satisfied with the efficiency of the check-in staff.
The airport said their aim was for customers to wait no more than four minutes to go through security and on arrival with hand luggage were on a rail station platform within 15 minutes of leaving the aircraft.
With more destinations added to the airport last year and places like Venice and Berlin added to the flight schedule this year, Smart Luggage are encouraging customers to start thinking about their holiday.
With better service at airports, more holidaymakers could be persuaded to fly abroad without having to worry about lengthy queues and luggage problems.
