If you’ve seen an influx of new members puffing on the treadmill in the gym, chances are their motivations may not be as healthy as you think. A survey by a naughty adult website has found that getting fit is top on their priority list for 2013.

82% answered that they preferred a sexual partner to be in shape.

The adult dating website, which is one of the niche platforms offered by the umbrella site,, quizzed its members on how important they thought exercise was for their sex lives.

66% answered that they have better sex when they are fit. 25% thought it didn’t make any difference and the rest didn’t know. No one thought that being unfit enhanced their sexual performance.

As a bigger incentive, a staggering 82% answered that they preferred a sexual partner to be in shape. 15% said it didn’t matter and 3% surprised the researchers by saying they preferred someone out of shape.

When asked if it would be a bedroom deal breaker if a potential sexual partner was out of shape, 72% of women and 55% of men agreed, giving an extra incentive to men to break sweat down at the gym.

Sarah, a single mum, who enrolled with because she doesn’t want a committed relationship until her child is older said: “When you’re just looking for a physical connection, the body is the most important thing. I’m not asking for anything else so I can afford to be picky. First thing I’ll think when I meet him is what will he look like under there, and he better not get sweaty and breathless.” is the most popular of the seven different platforms within the dating group. It offers members a chance to select if they are interested in a continuous NSA fling, a one-night stand or even to experiment with more than one partner. The site claims to offer members a change from the traditional conservative form of dating and to ‘enable them to meet people that share their private heartfelt or kinky desires and needs.’

Out of 400 members polled, 337 (84%) said that they intended to get more fit this year, proving that when it comes to sex lives, people really can be determined. More than half (56%) said it was their top New Year promise to themselves.

However, next week - the third week in January - has been muted by experts as the week people are most likely to give up on their New Year resolutions. Founder of the group of dating sites Paul King said: “Next week will be the ultimate motivation test. But there’s no better incentive than the promise of a better sex life and an imminent exciting experience with a new partner to get people to act. The numbers of people from this survey, particularly women, who prioritised fitness levels for a sexual encounter should be a wake-up call to anyone hoping to get lucky in the near future.”

Info to Editors is one of several different platforms of the umbrella site has over 1.5 million UK members and enables members to choose which platform they want to join from Mature adults, divorced adults, single parent adults, cuddly adults (size 14 plus), naughty adults, Christian adults or the more generic single adults.
