Building a Travel Itinerary

Try to plan your events and destinations with gaps catering for unexpected delays

Kent (PRWEB UK) 21 January 2013

It may sound a bit like construction when the term “build” is used beside the word Itinerary. However, it is very much like building or constructing a building. So let’s start with the “foundation”

1. Foundation to building an itinerary: - Find all the areas of interest. Think about restaurants wishing to eat at. There may be theatres or special events that may be happening in the area that you may wish to attend. Do a lot of research for the area. The internet is a vast ocean of information that is current and up to date. Ask friends or family who may have visited that particular area before, as experience and word of mouth is one of the best ways to know the truth about a place.

2. Plan the time it would take to get from one place to another. Know the dates and times of events or festivals. If this section is not planned well enough, there will be crossing over of time for visiting areas and events and the frustration would be immense. Again, there are maps available online and the estimated time is there for travelling from one place to another.

3. Try to plan your events and destinations with gaps catering for unexpected delays. There may be change in weather, road works etc. so give enough time between each visit to avoid disappointment and stress, and after all it is a holiday. Schedule stops for food and to take in the environment and get acquainted with the locals.

4. After this point, you will know how many pieces of luggage needed for the trip and what type of luggage also. When and where to book accommodation and where you need to include car hire, if necessary.

5. This can now be brought all together by using one of the available phone app. These apps do all the work of organising everything and it just makes it so much easy in the end. There are apps like Trippit and a few others. Have a look at some of our links about these:-
