According to a recent Mail Online report two year old Rhiya Malin died in a playhouse at Eton Manor Day Nursery in Chigwell by hanging, as she became trapped by her head in a wooden playhouse in the garden. Her carers, nursery manager Karen Jacobs, 38 and nursery assistant Kaylee Murphy are both on trial at Chelmsford Crown Court for failing to provide reasonable health and safety measures for the children in their care case number T20120197.
Both women have been charged with failing to discharge their duties under Section Seven of the Health and Safety Act 1974. The women both deny failing to take reasonable care of people who might be affected by their actions at work, failing to ensure that children were adequately supervised in the garden and failing to ensure that risk assessments were carried out and safety check lists were completed. The case continues.

A spokesperson from Private Detective Leeds said:
“This is a terribly sad case where the staff did not see the importance of giving these children 100% of their time. They were too wrapped up in their own selves to think about the small people in their care.”
