Stiltz Lifts Expands Its Reach Into Irish Market with First Home Lift Installation
(PRWEB UK) 21 October 2013 -- Stiltz Lifts has had one of its new innovative home lifts installed in Ireland for the first time.
The UK-based company decided to raise awareness of its through-floor lifts in the country after exhibiting at the Spring Ideal Home Show in Dublin earlier this summer. Held at the RDS Simmonscourt Pavillion in Dublin in May, the event is Ireland’s biggest and most attended event for home owners.
Stiltz appointed Naas-based NSN Home Lifts in County Kildare as its distributor in the region following the success of the show. The Stiltz lift was launched in 2010 as the first lift of its kind to be available in the UK that can be fitted virtually anywhere in the home.
Originally conceived in Australia, the lift was developed for people with mobility problems that can be easily installed in the home with minimal fuss. Following its introduction to the UK market, the Stiltz lift – that can carry two people comfortably – has now become a cost effective and hassle-free alternative to the ageing stairlift.
Pensioner Mrs Murray was finding the stairs too difficult to manage on a daily basis at her home in Country Meath but decided against a stairlift as she did not want it to take up all the stair space. Mrs Murray got in touch with the Stiltz Lifts team after a friend, who attended the Spring Ideal Home Show, picked up a Stiltz brochure and passed it on to her.
Stiltz Lifts was able to offer her their standard stairwell void application that is designed to use the dead space in the void to fit a home lift. This is possible due to Stiltz’s unique dual rail system and electric motor drive system. No other through-floor lift on the market can offer this solution and the lift also has the smallest footprint of any residential lift available.
The customer was concerned that she might need load bearing walls but as the Stiltz lift uses rails, which are a completely self-supporting structure, they were not needed. The weight of the structure and the lift is carried in compression through the rails in the floor of the home. There is no need for any extra weight burden on the home due to this innovative system.
The Stiltz lift does not require any extra external mechanisms as it uses a unique roped drum-braked gear electric motor drive system powered by a normal 13-amp power socket. This is discreetly located at the top of the lift car and is very quiet because the lift does not use hydraulics so no major building work was needed in Mrs Murray’s home. Unlike other domestic lifts available, all the mechanics of a Stiltz lift are in one place, hidden from view.
The solution offered by Stiltz Lifts was perfect for Mrs Murray and she had the entry-level Stiltz Duo Lift installed in the entrance hall of her beautiful Navan home in two days.
Thanks to the stairwell void application, the Stiltz lifts provides, the lift fitted perfectly in an alcove of the stairs and connected to the dressing room off the main bedroom upstairs without any trouble. Builders just had to move around the wardrobes in the dressing room and make a new entrance door in the wall for the lift, while cutting out the appropriate aperture in the downstairs ceiling and upstairs floor.
Stiltz business development manager Lachlan Faulkner said, “Stiltz Lifts is delighted to have expanded its reach into Ireland with the installation of our first home through-floor lift in the country.
“The Spring Ideal Show was a hugely positive exhibition for us and we received a great reaction to our lifts. Many could not believe how many advantages our home lift has over a stairlift, how easy it is to install and the affordability of it.
“NSN Home Lifts is our only partner in the region and carried out all the work of Mrs Murray’s installation of the Stiltz Duo Lift to perfection. We look forward to working with them on many more projects in Ireland as we continue to look to raise awareness of our residential lifts in the country.”
ABOUT STILTZ LIFTS
Stiltz Lifts is the sole supplier, manufacturer and installer of Stiltz home lifts. Based in Wokingham, Berkshire, the company was founded in the United Kingdom and has a manufacturing facility in China.
Stiltz gained its experience designing domestic lifts and elevators in Australia for more than two decades. The lifts are through-floor and fit in the home - the first of their kind to be available in the UK.
The company developed the lift to make life easier for elderly or disabled people and help them to stay in their own homes for longer when stairs become too much. Unlike a stairlift, the Stiltz lift carries two people comfortably and is a hassle-free and cost-effective alternative.
The Stiltz Home Lifts range includes the standard Duo Lift, the Vista Lift and the Trio Lift. Stiltz’s lifts do not need fixing to walls and can be fitted almost anywhere in the home with no major building work. They have the smallest footprint for a residential lift on the market.
The lifts are also the quietest as they do not use hydraulics and are instead powered a unique electric motor drive system that is located discretely in the top of the lift car. All Stiltz domestic lifts are powered by a simple normal 13-amp power socket like any other household appliance which uses less power than an electric kettle.
No planning permission is needed for Stiltz lifts – just a standard building notice application. VAT exemption and grants from the Disabilities Facilities Grant are also available.
