London (PRWEB UK) 22 November 2013 -- The CV as we know it has not changed in living memory. LinkedIn has made it far easier for CVs to be shared but, fundamentally, it is still just a list of skills and experiences that do little to bring a person to life. BPS are set to change that and, with the help of employers, plan to revolutionise the CV and make it fit for the Digital Age. The revolution will start at the Digital Marketing Show on 26th November.
Simon Conington, the founder and MD of BPS explained, “The CV is such an old fashioned concept. There are some challenges but there are also a lot of opportunities provided by digital that have been largely ignored. I’ll be speaking at the Digital Marketing Show to find out what employers want so that we can revolutionise the CV. We have our own ideas but, if we’re going to start a revolution, we want to make sure that it’s one that works for everyone.”
Over the last few years, some recruiters have introduced videos and many will now make social media searches on candidates, often producing some startling results. However, this has been piecemeal and there has been no attempt, until now, to embrace digital. BPS want to produce a new CV that gives employers far more information than is currently available to assess a candidate’s suitability. It should also give candidates the chance to showcase and prove their talents beyond how well they can write and present their skills and experience in a flat written document.
Simon concluded; “We’re passionate about improving retention rates and that can only be achieved by improving the fit between the candidate and the job. We’ve already introduced changes that have resulted in a 30% increase in retention. However digital offers us the chance to truly revolutionize recruitment and make it fit for the ‘digital natives’ that are now entering the workforce.”
Simon will be speaking at the Digital Marketing Show on 26th November at 11:30am London ExCel. Attendance is free and tickets are available from digitalmarketingshow.co.uk. To take part in the discussion, whether or not you can be present for Simon’s talk, use the hashtags #CVRevolution #DigitalMarketingShow.
