Rare Treats as New OCHOS Steakhouse Ups Fine Dining Ante on Koh Samui
Koh Samui, Thailand (PRWEB UK) 1 July 2013 -- Rare has never been so well done on Thailand's premier island of indulgence and celebration following the launch of OCHOS Steakhouse at the award-winning AKARYN Samui Resort and Spa.
The all-new OCHOS Steakhouse has raised the bar and grill for quality and style, and turned up the heat on other pretenders to Samui's steakhouse crown. Here are some more compelling reasons to make OCHOS a must-do on your culinary sojourn on Koh Samui: Chateau Haut-Brione, Wagyu Striploin, Ginger Mustard, Lobster Sashimi.
Chef Christophe Lindner takes the reins following a night of the long steak knives that sees OCHOS move on from its tapas focus to more red-blooded indulgence and finely marbled pleasures.
The succulent array of perfectly aged steaks and sides is complemented by the freshest seafood, locally and sustainably caught where possible. Chef Christoph Lindner, who recently arrived at the resort, charged with checking out an already sophisticated dining scene, found the one thing lacking was one of the food groups most desired by tourists and residents on the island.
OCHOS Steakhouse features a show kitchen overlooking the 'Big Table', arguably the best seat in the house. From here, diners will be up close and perhaps a bit too personal for some with the flashing blades of Chef Christophe's legendary Laguiole steak knives, imported from France.
Among the extensive array of meats, the prime rib, a 1.5kg portion, served on a hot rock lava platter is one of the key signature dishes, along with Saltbush lamb known in Australia as the Rolls Royce of meats, and the Wagyu Striploin. All cuts are carefully selected, with high meat marble scores and are served with a selection of aromatic mustards, such as black currant, violet and ginger.
An extensive wine list of over 100 new and old wines includes standouts such as Chateau Clinet 2009 (one of the best Bordeaux vintages in last 15 years) and Chateau Haut-Brion, a pioneering estate honing its time honoured vines and wines 1533. The list also includes the best of Italian wines such as from iconic producer Barolo, Angelo Gaja and a collection of amazing “Supertuscans” Ornella, Tiganello and Solaia.
AKARYN Samui is located seven minutes from Samui International Airport and 10 minutes from the bustling hub of Chaweng Beach, featuring 52 spacious and very private garden suites and pool villas on Hanuman Bay, a peaceful and sheltered sandy beach where the resort’s sister company, Pure Blue Foundation is undertaking coral restoration work 50 metres off the beach.
Guests are welcome to snorkel to visit the work, which is aimed at regenerating coral structures to attract more species of tropical fish to the bay and help sustain the marine ecosystem.
