Infographic illustrates international student opinions & motivations when applying
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 2 July 2013 -- Following on from the excellent feedback for their survey on incoming international student motivations, Hotcourses International have released an infographic to illustrate the key findings, for both industry professionals and student users themselves.
The data for the resource, ‘Applying to study abroad: What students said’, comes from survey results released by CEO Mike Elms at NAFSA 2013, last month. This infographic outlines a few of those insights, including what students search by when looking for options abroad, the poor perception of online degrees, and how the influence of parents varies from one area to another.
Also included is a breakdown across countries of what students wish to see in video content when making a decision. While one might think that graduate prospects would be high on their agenda – given the economic climate – Elms returns to the survey results, which indicate that ‘students care more about academic facilities available to them and the daily experience of studying in a foreign country’.
Already the findings have been warmly received by both press outlets like Pie News, and Hotcourses' clients, intrigued to know how they can better appeal to students from other countries. It is hoped that the infographic will resonate with those in the sector who may missed these results the first time round, with NAFSA 2013 now firmly in the distance. However this time, students have also been considered in the design of the infographic, so they can compare their behaviour and attitudes to those of their counterparts internationally.
Almost 6,000 students from around the globe were surveyed through their network of international sites and social media. The infographic is laid out to match the journey of an international student when applying, beginning with how students initially search, and concluding with what they consider to be a satisfactory response.
