Private Investigators Oxford Give Information About Polygraph Tests in Light of Recent Guardian Article: Lie Detector Tests Set to be Introduced to Monitor Sex Offenders
(PRWEB UK) 2 July 2013 -- According to Guardian article dated 1 July by Alan Travis: Lie detector tests set to be introduced to monitor sex offenders, compulsory polygraph testing of sex offenders released into communities could be approved by The House of Lords. Pilot schemes that have been carried out from 2009 – 2001 in two Midlands areas had findings that suggest offenders were more likely to tell probation staff if they have breached terms of their release. Hertfordshire police also used the tests in a pilot scheme in 2011 to help decide whether to charge suspected sex offenders and to gauge the risk they posed to society. In this scheme at least six “low level” offenders were found to be of more serious risk to children than previously estimated.
Investigators from Private Investigators Oxford provide lie detector testing. Most tests that are carried out by private investigators are to prove infidelity, theft or some clients wish to prove their own innocence of something they have been accused of. The polygraph examiner is highly trained and interprets physiological reactions from the subject, such as changes in blood pressure, sweat production and breathing patterns, to determine deceptive behaviour.
Spokesperson from Private Investigators Oxford, Andrea Dawson said:
“In my professional opinion polygraph testing can be used as an additional tool to provide a wider approach to tackling the problems of monitoring released sex offenders.”
