Angel Springs to Donate Water to Cancer Research's Relay for Life
(PRWEB UK) 5 July 2013 -- Angel Springs is set to help another charitable cause, pledging more than 500 bottles of water to the Relay for Life cancer charity event in Aylesbury.
The water bottles will be donated as part of Angel Springs’ Free Water Initiative, which launched earlier this year. The company, which supplies water coolers to firms up and down the country, has allocated 12,000 bottles to be donated to charitable causes for the first year of the initiative.
Water has already been donated to a 10k run in aid of Leukaemia Research, the Compton Hospice Annual Memory Walk and Fun Run, and the Carsington 7+ Run.
Angel Springs also donated water to the Relay for Life last year, when the event raised around £60,000.
Angel Springs’ commercial director, John Murphy, said: “When we were asked to donate water to the Relay for Life, we were only too happy to help – especially having seen how much of a difference the donation made last year.
“Providing water for hundreds of well-wishers is a big ask for event organisers, so we try to help out in the way we know best – by providing refreshing bottled spring water.
“That’s exactly why we set up the Free Water Initiative.
“It’s been a great success so far, with a wide range of charities signing up for water bottles. We’re very proud of it.
“We have more than 12,000 bottles to give away this year alone, so if you have an upcoming charity event, get in touch to discuss your needs.
“In the meantime, we’d like to extend our best wishes to those taking part in the Relay for Life this year.”
The Relay for Life is organised by Cancer Research UK. It will take place overnight, beginning at Aylesbury Rugby Football Club at 12pm on Saturday, July 6, and wrapping up at 12pm on Sunday, July 7.
A number of individuals and teams will participate, with team members taking turns to run or walk around a track over a period of up to 24 hours.
A special Candle of Hope ceremony also takes place during the event. It offers participants a chance to reflect on the event and its causes, with music, poems and readings.
