Thames Valley Training Provider ATG Training Calls for A*-pprentices
Thames Valley, UK (PRWEB UK) 25 June 2014 -- With a recent report (1) showing that a typical undergraduate will leave university with a debt of more than £44,000, ATG Training is keen to showcase the opportunities available to high-achieving students from prominent employers in the Thames Valley. The company, a registered charity, has been working with apprentices since 1967, providing a diverse range of training modules from its purpose-built site in Aylesbury and forging working partnerships with some of the region’s most high-profile employers.
“There are some amazing apprenticeship opportunities available for school and college leavers in the Thames Valley,” says Ian Harper, Chief Executive of ATG Training. “These are real career opportunities, opening doors into some of the UK’s most outstanding companies with funded progression to degree level and beyond. These employers are ready and willing to invest in bright young people and offer a pathway to a long-term career.”
“In our engineering capacity alone we have apprentices in companies like Nordson DAGE, who research and manufacture world-leading industrial x-ray equipment, and Martin Baker, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of aircraft ejection seats. Our most recent success story, Faye Chicken, has gone on to study through Oxford University and is now working in Geneva with CERN at the location where Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989.”
Launching online and through social media, the ‘Plan A’ campaign aims to inspire school and college leavers to consider the wide-ranging benefits of training and qualifying through the workplace. “We will be profiling real stories from apprentices and employers in the Thames Valley, talking money, prospects and outcomes to show apprenticeships as a viable alternative to university for gifted students,” concludes Ian. “Our aim is to show what an apprenticeship in 2014 really means and the qualifications and career paths it can lead to. If you are a high academic achiever looking for an exciting challenge, we want to hear from you.”
Just some of the current engineering and business opportunities for candidates with A Level or GCSE grades A*-C through ATG Training include roles in business administration and customer service with Dynamic International, The Fitness Superstore and Sennheiser UK. Three year Advanced Apprenticeships include vacancies as an Electronic Engineer with Leica Microsystems, a world leader in microscopes and scientific instruments, a Field Service Engineer with Lake Image Systems, a global frontrunner in industrial image technologies, as well as engineering opportunities with British Converting Solutions and Kodak.
