Orange’s Fabien Dallot says cloud gaming technology is made for telco’s
London, England (PRWEB UK) 10 March 2014 -- Fabien Dallot, Director of Cloud Gaming, Orange says: “It is a great opportunity, because it means we can really leverage our network. We manage the bandwidth, so we can guarantee the service.”
“We see this as a revenue generator itself.”
To kick start the process Orange offers a free game pad to all new broadband customers.
“So when they have their set-top box, they can discover the service very quickly and begin purchasing games.”
This is important for retention as gamers will not want to change provider and lose awards, characters, scores and levels, he adds.
And there are exciting innovations in the pipeline. Dallot hints that a new app will allow gamers to use their smartphone as the gamepad via direct interaction with the TV.
