‘Something Blue’ emerges as top 2014 colour scheme for weddings, reveals bridal florist Todich Floral Design
London (PRWEB UK) 24 March 2014 -- London bridal florist Todich Floral Design is now in the midst of the busy wedding season and has noted an increasing trend for couples requesting ‘something blue’ for their wedding flowers to complement blue bridesmaids’ dresses or wedding colour schemes.
The top wedding florist has recently noticed a flurry of brides requesting blue flowers for their weddings, after royal blue featured heavily in last month’s London Fashion Week. Royal blue can be a tricky colour to match and work with when it comes to flowers, but here Todich Floral Design recommends some naturally blue varieties which are stunning, as well as good complementary colours that can be used.
The emerging trend for something blue was first spotted last month on the catwalks, where models were seen wearing a variety of designs in gorgeous royal blue. Royal blue is an elegant deep colour that eludes royalty, and similar shades include navy, cobalt and midnight blue, which all create a very cool, calming effect. Todich Floral Design expects these colours to be seen in weddings all summer, as well as into autumn and winter too.
Strong and bold, blue is particularly striking in combination with yellow, coral, fuchsia, peach, lime green, white and purple — all perfect for summer weddings. Blue is also known as the ‘colour of trust’ which makes it a particularly meaningful bridal flower colour to use. Plus of course it’s another way to incorporate the ‘something blue’, which has the long-time meaning of good luck.
“We love the royal blue theme that is in fashion at the moment because it is extremely refreshing and unique,” says owner Zlatko “Todd” Todic. “Brides now tend to prefer the natural look though, so we would recommend naturally blue species such as hydrangea, cornflower or delphinium, combined with flowers such as yellow, cream or peachy pink garden roses, white stock or phlox, and tanacetum daisies for an organic, wildflower look.”
Top London florist Todich Floral Design specialises in working with brides to create flowers that perfectly match their venue and wedding colour theme and in creating bespoke floral designs in line with current wedding flower trends. The flower company has worked in some of the top venues in London including Mandarin Oriental and Café Royal, and offers not just wedding flowers for UK brides, but a complete floral design and flower decoration service.
