Huge milestone for Cambridge English: Advanced
(PRWEB UK) 27 March 2014 -- Cambridge English: Advanced is now accepted by over 4,000 institutions worldwide as proof of the English language skills needed for study or workplace performance.
The figure includes universities and colleges in Australia, Canada, the USA, the UK, Ireland, and other countries across Europe, as well as employers around the world.
Nicola Johnson, from Cambridge English Language Assessment, said:
"More institutions are choosing to accept the exam as it provides more than just a snapshot of English language ability. This steep rise in acceptance of the exam is really encouraging as it shows how seriously different organisations are taking language ability as a key skill." This milestone figure represents an increase of 71 per cent since 2010 – a rise which reflects the exam’s quality, security and growing global reputation.
Institutions which have recently recognised the high-level exam include the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in UAE, for undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment; the Health Service Executive Ireland, for trainee doctor recruitment; and the University of Virginia and Texas Tech University for international student admissions. In addition, the Australian Government has re-approved Cambridge English: Advanced for student visa applications.
Cambridge English: Advanced is part of the Cambridge English suite of exams developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment – provider of the world’s leading range of qualifications for learners and teachers of English.
