London, UK (PRWEB UK) 17 April 2014 -- InferMed is pleased to announce its inclusion as a Lot 1 solution provider within the GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) Framework. Lot 1 status covers the provision of centrally funded GP Clinical IT system functionality, support and hosting. For the first time Arezzo Pathways has a route to becoming available to GP practices in England with funding support from GPSoC.
GPSoC has successfully delivered a flexible mechanism for contracting clinical IT systems in GP practices since 2007, and at present, over 75% of practices use a system provided through the framework, delivering functionality in line with a common set of standards and performance measures that all suppliers must support.
The new framework is geared towards helping practices get the best out of their GP clinical IT systems and includes funding for new key services such as clinical decision support. Lot 1 status means that practices will be able to choose the services they require from those available with license and support costs met by central funding; they will also be able to procure additional services from Lot 1 suppliers using local budgets.
Arezzo Pathways is a web-based service that combines best practice clinical guidelines, including those developed by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), with GP clinical system data to generate, at the point of care, recommendations specific to each patient and compliant with the guidelines. This assists clinicians in managing patients especially those with long-term conditions, and in making timely and appropriate referrals.
Duane Lawrence, CEO of InferMed, commented, “InferMed is delighted to be awarded the contract on the new GPSoC framework. We look forward to working in partnership with the principal GP clinical IT system suppliers and to providing Arezzo Pathways to CCGs and GP practices through the GPSoC contracting process.”
