Champions League final to be live on football.co.uk
(PRWEB UK) 20 May 2014 -- DSG will be providing extended coverage on football.co.uk of the Champions League final being held in Lisbon on the 24th May. The final is due to be held at the Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the home of Benfica since it was opened in 2003. Bjorn Kuipers will take charge of the European show-piece in World Cup year and has overseen 68 matches in EUFA competition matches to date. The match has all the makings of a classic with this being a passionate derby as well as the Champions League final, the top honour in European club football. Real Madrid will be looking to claim their tenth European title whilst Atletico are seeking their first.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “It’s going to be a great final and the perfect club finale before international football and a certain summer World Cup. Real Madrid are the bookies' favourites having the world's best player Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale in such great form in the Spanish La Liga. It’s going to be a great occasion with the match also being a fierce and passionate derby game. We will be covering all the action live on our website football.co.uk as well as on our social media channels Facebook, Twitter and Google +. The Champions League final is the last big club.”
Jason Hope, Content Manager of DSG believes that this match will be Atletico Madrid’s first Champions League title. “Real Madrid no doubt have a great chance to win their tenth Champions League title this year and their demolition of Bayern Munich this year should fill them with confidence. I have the feeling though that Atletico could spring a surprise against their local rivals and winning their first title could provide that added desire. Either way the match will be a great final as attention switches to international football and the World Cup in Brazil.”
