New sponsors for billion-pound investment event
(PRWEB UK) 24 June 2014 -- The HR Directors Business Summit is the most senior event of its kind across the UK and Europe.
Attracting more than 600 HR decision makers at the top of their profession, the two-day summit takes place on February 3 and 4 at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre (ICC).
Attendees must go through a strict qualification process to ensure they are the lead authority and decision maker within their company and that they have a minimum budgetary spend of £500,000, which they are looking to invest in the next 12 to 18 months.
This year’s event matched buyers with a whopping combined budgetary spend of £1.5bn to sellers of HR services. The summit features a mixture of exhibiting, one-to-one business meetings, workshops, master classes and keynote speeches.
Speakers in 2015 include directors, CEOs and vice-presidents from the world’s best known companies and universities. Leading figures include Dr Nicole Millard, customer experience futurologist at BT; Deborah Baker, director of people at Sky; Nick Wall, senior vice-president at Coca-Cola; and Dame Carol Black, an advisor to the Department of Health.
National Service Director at Cafcass, which represents children going through family court cases, Christine Banim will talk about how the organisation has turned itself around after being labelled “not fit for purpose” by the public accounts committee in 2010.
Another confirmed speaker, Jas Hawker, former commanding officer of the RAF Red Arrows, will offer insights into organisational effectiveness, high performance and leadership in a high-stakes environment. Simon Wells, a crisis and terrorist negotiator, who advises the US special forces and UK anti-terrorist squads, will be talking about what HR can learn from his approach to negotiating with aggressive or difficult people.
Key themes for next year will also include how to build a talented team of employees for the future, how to get more out of team leaders and how to improve the employability of young people.
CMP Resolutions, which is among the firms sponsoring the event, will have a stand at the summit to offer advice and provide information about its services, which centre around closing, managing and preventing conflict at work.
A spokesman for CMP Resolutions said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting such a high-profile event.
