GeoPlace Maintains ISO Quality and Information Security Accreditations
(PRWEB UK) 23 July 2014 -- GeoPlace is accredited to two internationally recognised ISO standards which have been applied to the whole business; ISO27001 Information Security and ISO9001 Quality Management Standard.
GeoPlace has maintained its ISO9001 Quality Management Standard for nearly six years since achieving certification at the beginning of January 2009, and will be undertaking full recertification in November 2014. Its ISO27001 Information Security Standard has been successfully maintained for nearly five years, since original certification in October 2010.
Following a move to the British Standards Institute (BSI) to provide certification services in August 2013, GeoPlace successfully passed three assessment visits, two for ISO9001 and one for ISO27001, all without fault. These audits have covered essential business functions including support services, data management, systems and software development, engagement and communication services with no areas of concern identified.
The most recent audit at the beginning of July 2014 covered the supply of data services to Ordnance Survey for the provision of the AddressBase® range of products which are the definitive source of spatial address and property information and under the Public Services Mapping Agreement, made available to the whole of the public sector free at the point of use.
Richard Mason, GeoPlace Managing Director said “GeoPlace takes its obligations to its customers and suppliers under the Data Co-operation Agreement (DCA) and Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) extremely seriously. In order to ensure we maintain a high level of quality and strive for continuous improvement each team within the business incorporates the processes required under these two ISO Standards into their everyday work which means that we have the robust business systems in place necessary to successfully deliver complex data solutions.”
