London, UK (PRWEB UK) 18 August 2014 -- So, does original art really have to be expensive? Not according to the owners of http://www.original-art-under100.com - a new website specialising in original works for under £100. With over 80 emerging artists signed-up and exhibiting more than 700 original pieces (all for under £100), perhaps now, signed original art might be accessible to all of us rather than the privileged few.
But can you really pick up decent works for under £100? A number of commentators, including the UK’s leading DIY website, The DIY Doctor thinks so. In reviewing the site recently, they said, “the quality of the art is actually surprisingly good.” Furthermore, The Telegraph was so taken with the concept, they ran a large feature on the site late last year, extolling the site's virtues.
Original Art Under £100.com’s co-director Mary Sheridan said recently, “Since launching 18 months ago, we’ve found there's a real appetite for vibrant original art at truly affordable prices – so, for those who discover us, we’re often just what they’ve been waiting for.”
Member artists manage to keep their prices so low by selling direct and commission-free to buyers – here there is no middleman taking a cut. This allows artists to share their savings with buyers. In return, member artists pay a small annual fee to use the site.
So, if you’re looking for original art at truly affordable prices, this site could well be of interest. And you never know, with 80+ emerging artists on-board, your sub-£100 punt might even turn out to be by the next Emin or Hockney.
