LSBF working with UKTI to strengthen students' career development opportunities
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 20 August 2014 -- London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) is proud to announce that it will be working with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) London. The collaboration will enable LSBF’s EU students to take part in UKTI’s Postgraduates for International Business (P4IB) programme, an initiative that offers work placements at a wide range of organisations based in the capital.
As part of the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), UKTI boasts around 40,000 business contacts, a fact that has led to a large number of exciting new positions becoming available to LSBF students and graduates. Participants can now gain invaluable experience in London-based businesses, either as part of their studies or as a separate internship. Both full and part-time roles are available, allowing candidates to benefit from the programme regardless of whether they have recently graduated or are still studying.
Getting involved in the day-to-day running of an SME will help P4IB participants improve their understanding of the fundamentals of running a business. It will also ensure that they develop the skills needed to progress within that industry, thereby enhancing their future career prospects.
Nadim Choudhury, Head of Career Services & Employability for LSBF, said: “We’re extremely excited to be part of the P4IB programme, which opens up a great deal of opportunities for our students. They will have the chance to gain hands-on experience, greatly improving their chances of success. Being given the chance to participate in real, business-relevant projects will give them the valuable competitive edge that employers look for.”
UKTI London Language and Culture Adviser, Jack Porteous, said of the scheme: “This important programme will help British companies overcome some of the language and cultural barriers to growth and exports, while simultaneously offering a great opportunity for students studying in the UK to gain valuable work experience in a real business. Their work will add real value to the companies’ overseas development.”
A few of the diverse roles on offer through this programme include market research, website development, customer services and business development. The roles will all be advertised through the LSBF Career Services channels, such as the JobWire , where students will be able to apply. LSBF career advisors will also continue to offer their support to students to help them through the application process.
