Notos Quartet is RNCM's New Junior Fellow in Chamber Music
(PRWEB UK) 26 August 2014 -- Formed in 2007, Notos (comprising violinist Sindri Lederer, violist Malte Koch, cellist Florian Streich, and pianist Antonia Köster) won the 2011 Parkhouse Award, and was a First Prize winner of previous Charles Hennen-Concours and Premio Vittorio Gui competitions in Holland and Florence respectively. The Quartet has also performed in venues including Wigmore Hall and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.
Talking on behalf of Notos, Antonia said: "We are honoured to have been chosen as the Waverley Junior Fellow in Chamber Music and are all looking forward to working together with chamber musicians at the RNCM. Sharing our experiences as well as learning from the students will be an exciting challenge for us and we hope to have lots of memorable moments full of wonderful music over the next 12 months."
Jeremy Young, Head of Chamber Music at the Manchester college, said: "The RNCM’s International Chamber Music Studio is delighted to welcome the Notos Piano Quartet as Junior Fellow for 2014/15. It follows in the footsteps of outstanding groups such as the Navarra and Heath Quartets and take over the position from the exceptional Sitkovetsky Trio.
