Banks O'Dees Sports Club Achieve Triple Success with Investors in People
Aberdeen, Scotland (PRWEB UK) 5 June 2015 -- Aberdeen based Banks O’Dee Sports Club have become the fourth organisation in Scotland to achieve all three awards from Investors in People Scotland; namely IIP accreditation; the IIP Health & Wellbeing Award; and the newly launched Investors in Young People accreditation.
This represents a fantastic commitment to the people within Banks O’Dee Sports Club, and demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement.
Achieving the IIP accreditation represents a true commitment to employees and demonstrates a solid foundation of good practice which remains challenging and aspirational for many organisations.
The IIP Health & Wellbeing award illustrates that Banks O’Dee Sports Club have recognised the importance of employee Health & Wellbeing and have taken measures to ensure that it is not only at a high level, but through the award, also measurable.
Being one of the first recipients of the newly launched Investors in Young People Award demonstrates Banks O’Dee Sports Club desire to continually and effectively recruit, develop and retain young people.
Chief Executive of Investors in People Scotland, Peter Russian said “To achieve Investors in People accreditation, or the Health & Wellbeing, or the Investors in Young People Award is a fabulous achievement in their own right. But to accomplish all three awards is a real mark of the high esteem in which Banks O’Dee Sports Club hold their people. As one of the first organisations in Scotland to achieve the IIYP Accreditation their dedication to the employment and development of young people cannot be understated.”
Iain Watson, General Manager from Banks O’ Dee Sports Club said “These awards demonstrate our commitment to providing good sustainable business practices. Out of a core 15 staff 9 are under the age of 24. Every employee is given the opportunity to progress their career within the Sports Club with investment in external and internal training. We are only as good as our team and I believe Banks O’ Dee is setting the standard in the Sports and Fitness industry.”
About Investors in People
• An organisation that has achieved Investors in People has been successful in adopting and maintaining its three fundamental principles:
Plan - developing strategies to improve the performance of the organisation, from business goals to leadership strategies;
Do - implementing those strategies, taking action to improve the performance of the organisation;
Review - evaluating and adjusting those strategies, measuring their impact on the performance of the organisation.
• Investors in Young People is a new Accreditation launched in August 2014 with support from the Scottish Government. The Accreditation looks to recognise and support organisations who recruit, develop and train young people.
• Investors in People Health & Wellbeing Award helps to imbed good health and wellbeing practices, so overall performance improvement can be encouraged rather than just minimising sickness and injury.
