London (PRWEB UK) 27 August 2015 -- Following a startling 58% increase in Employment Application Fraud reported last year by CIFAS, the UK’s Fraud Prevention Service, it seems business leaders are beginning to wake up to the true impact that CV fraud has on their bottom line and are looking for measures to help combat it. Over 12 months, 324 people were prosecuted for all forms of fraudulent applications compared with just 205 a year earlier.
Cifas Chief Executive, Simon Dukes, comments: “While competition for jobs is fierce, the temptation to lie to make an application or CV stand out might seem appealing. However, fraudulent declarations regarding qualifications, employment history and experience, etc, can have very serious consequences.”
He said; “Applicants who submit false or exaggerated information run the risk of dismissal, a criminal record and even imprisonment." *
Vertifi, the recruitment services group believe their recently launched self-regulating CV verification platform, will have a significant impact on CV fraud and could save UK businesses millions as it looks to address this issue head on. It will help raise on-line CV transparency to a whole new level by allowing honest candidates to provide employers with reassurance about the content of their CV.
The concept works on the basis that anyone can verify anyone, providing they have the relevant knowledge, experience or authorisation to do so.
Vertifi.me allows job applicants to get third party endorsements for the information contained in their CV in order to underline their integrity and provide potential employers with proof about who they really are and what they have actually achieved.
Behind the easy to use Vertifi.me interface, the concept is cleverly self-regulating and uses complex algorithms to recalculate a user’s score each time they get a new endorsement or the people who have endorsed them improve their score. The users Vertifi score, or ‘trust level’, reflects the overall validity of the content of their CV to provide employers with reassurance about trustworthiness of a candidates application.
Vertifi.me managing director, Thomas Clegg, commented; “We’re confident that vertifi.me will get traction in the world of recruitment as it gives candidates a way of proving their integrity and it provides employers with far more reassurance about who it is they're interviewing and what they've achieved. We also believe there are multiple uses for this technology in other areas such as online dating. We’re very pleased to have been able to work with Experian on this project and feel that their ID checking software underpins the veracity of the vertifi.me central scoring algorithm.”
Vertifi are no strangers to online data security and management as they are also owners of iProfile, Europe’s largest CV data exchange.
