Sky Medical Technology Recognised As a Growth Champion
High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. (PRWEB UK) 30 July 2016 -- Sky Medical Technology is a highly innovative UK based medical devices company that has developed a ground-breaking neuromuscular electrostimulation technology platform, On-Pulse®. Embedded in the geko™ device, the OnPulse™ technology has been tailored to the needs of different medical application areas selling both direct and through strategic global partnerships or distributors in each major clinical area. Clinical areas of focus and growth include DVT prevention, prevention and reduction of oedema, wound healing, and continence. The goal in each clinical area is to improve clinical outcomes and patient care whilst saving health system resources. Firstkind also markets the technology, branded firefly™, to elite sport athletes to relieve muscle soreness after high exertion, and to reduce swelling after injury.
Sky Medical Technology is one of 15 shortlisted from a long list of top performing SMEs, and is recognised alongside CaféPod, Carwow, Darwin & Wallace, Eve Sleep, Flyvictor, Go Outdoors, Gousto, Housekeep, MyShowcase, Notonthehighstreet.com, Outplay Entertainment, Oxford Space Systems, PrivateFly, Scoota. Each shortlisted company will be profiled in coming weeks before eight finalists are selected on the 8th August for the final judging stage. The winner of this award, sponsored by Smith & Williamson, will be determined by a dedicated judging panel in combination with a public vote. A public voting campaign will be based on video interviews with senior representatives of each finalist company.
All winners will be revealed at the Growth Investor Awards black tie dinner held on 3rd November at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, London.
Bernard Ross, CEO said: ‘We are delighted to be shortlisted for this award. Growth investment has materially changed the value of our company. It has enabled us to prove that OnPulse™ is a genuine platform technology, generating revenues in new therapy areas internationally, including North America, providing economic and clinical benefits to more patients than previously considered and access to new patients where current spend is greater a £50bn a year. Taking the technology from an idea to a product that saves lives has been hugely rewarding and our investors share this vision. They rightly also look for a healthy return on their investment. Through growth investment we now have clinical data and sales in diabetic and venous wound care, DVT prevention, enhanced post-surgical recovery (getting people out of hospital quicker) for a wide range of patient groups including frail and elderly patients recovering from debilitating foot surgery. It is also a pleasure to see product conceived, developed and manufactured in the UK being sold in many markets of the world including China.
