Digital Sports Group today announced that The PFA profile for the professional footballer David De Gea has been been updated. The PFA player profiles provide a unique and unrivalled insight into a professional footballer's career with full career stats, news biographies and features.
David De Gea is a hugely talented young goalkeeper who plays for Manchester United.
Prodigiously gifted for such a young stopper, the Spaniard overcame a jittery start to life in England – not to mention a legion of doubters - following his move from hometown club Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011 to cement his reputation as one of the finest goalkeeping prospects around with a series of excellent displays in the second half of last season.
This should have been of little surprise to those who saw his performances with Atletico, for whom he was starting and excelling – notably in a Europa League final – at the age of just 19.
Possessing outstanding reflexes, terrific maturity and footballing ability most outfield players would be envious of, David looks set to be a worthy successor to Edwin van der Sar in the United goal and already has Iker Casillas looking over his shoulder at international level.
For now, the young Madridista is a stalwart of Spain’s Under 21 side, the current European Champions.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say, “David De Gea is a fantastic player and we have been working hard to provide the most fantastic resource that is both enjoyable to use and useful. Working with the PFA provides unique biographical information and insights that can be found nowhere else online. We are proud of our partnership with the Professional Footballers Association and the unrivalled access this provides us to the players.”
DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk.
