Digital Sports Group today announced that The PFA Facebook fan page of Edin Dzeko has broken the 25% daily growth barrier making it the fastest growing Edin Dzeko page on Facebook. The Facebook page has become a thriving hub for the Manchester City striker since it's launch and now boasts a vibrant and rapidly growing community of fans. The Facebook page along with Edin Dzeko player profile on football.co.uk provide the only online location of the official PFA biography, lifetime stats, news and high resolution gallery.
A striker who signed for Manchester City in the January 2011 transfer window.
He spent the remainder of the 2010-11 season settling in at Eastlands, and he never quite hit the heights of form expected of him. He had a much better campaign in 2011-12 when although not always a first choice if Carlos Tevez was available, he finished second-top scorer for City with 14 goals from 16 starts.
His tally included a four-goal haul at White Hart Lane in August and the vital stoppage-time equaliser against Queen’s Park Rangers on the final day of the season, heralding Sergio Aguero’s even later strike to clinch the title for City. Edin began his career in Bosnia with FK Zelzejnicar, then moved to the Czech Republic, signing for Teplice.
However, it was only when he signed for VfL Wolfsburg in the summer of 2007 that he began to attract wider attention. He proved a prolific scorer in the Bundesliga, helping shoot Wolfsburg to the title in 2008-09, and his feats eventually earned him a move to City.
Edin is a regular in the Bosnia national team, having made his debut in June 2008.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Edin Dezko really has no shortage of fans after his performances for Manchester City this season and we can see that by the success of his PFA Facebook page.”
“All of us here at Digital Sports Group are proud we've had the opportunity to work with The PFA to give the fans a fantastic and unique fan resource for Edin Dzeko.”
DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player Profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk.
