WoodburnerWorld, also known as Woodburning-Stoves.co.uk has been interested in the social media aspects of the internet since day one. Undoubtedly, social media is one of the most cost-efficient ways to engage interested users and establish a brand online; and it seems as if the renowned stove retailer has done just that.

James Cook part of the E-Commerce team at WoodburnerWorld commented on the current iPad 3 competition: “This isn’t a new concept by any means, but at busy times of the year, it’s hard to dedicate hours of input to social media sites. As such, we thought it would be a great idea to give customers and loyal fans the chance to win something for Christmas seeing as we wouldn’t be that active on Facebook or Twitter.”

At current, the competition can only be entered through Facebook – but it’s still being promoted on Twitter and other social media platforms in order to encourage more users to take part and sign up for Facebook; even if it’s just for the competition.

To enter, all a user has to do is like the WoodburnerWorld Facebook page and then share the photo; this will automatically mean they’re in with a chance to win the iPad 3.

James again added: “Although we’ve toyed with the idea of making the competition more complex to enter, it simply reduces the amount of people who we get involved and this is usually more counter-productive than anything. We find that asking users to provide their email address to enter usually makes them bounce and for this reason, we’re currently trialling a more minimalist-approach for the competition.”

So far, the brand’s Facebook page has received over 1,500 likes since the competition started by going viral and reaching out to over 30,000 different people. Although the page is currently small in comparison to pages such as Amazon, it shows a constant sustained growth which can only be a good thing.
