IT Sales Consultant shares his buy-to-let experience with haart
(PRWEB UK) 21 June 2013 -- IT Sales Consultant Denis Francis had often thought of buying a property to let. Earlier this year he took the plunge and hasn’t looked back since. He shares his experience with haart estate agents.
Denis Francis had never thought about becoming landlord – until recently.
And, now that he has made the move and bought his first property in Farnborough, he can’t wait to do it all over again.
The Corporate IT Sales Consultant decided during the spring to make the leap and purchase a two bedroom apartment in Farnborough town centre both “as an investment” and “a retirement plan.”
“A buy-to-let was something I’d considered but that was about the extent of it – until recently,” explained the busy executive. “Then I started to think about planning for the future and the idea of buying a second property to rent out began to take shape.
“I wanted somewhere close to where I live with my family and knew this particular development well. I didn’t rush into it though. I sought advice from family and friends as well as speaking to several estate agents before making the move.”
Added Denis: “It is really important to do your research so you know exactly what type of mortgage is most suitable as well as the size of deposit that is needed. You also need to understand why it is you are doing it. You need to be doing it for the right reasons!”
Denis bought the property in early spring but subsequently rented the property with Daniel Harley and the team at haart of Fleet – albeit with a twist.
“My situation is slightly unusual in that the person who I bought from is looking to move to London,” said Denis. “However, they’ve not been able to find the right property yet so I’ve reached an agreement where they can rent the apartment for the next six months as a tenant whilst they search for their next home. This puts them in a far better negotiating position with cash in the bank and effectively no chain.”
Now that everything is completed, how would he rate the service he’s received from haart? “It’s been good. haart have done everything they said they would – you can’t really ask for any more. They made the process extremely easy and offer advice along the way so I knew at all times what my options were. I found that invaluable.”
And would he consider buying a second property? “The whole process has definitely whetted my appetite and I’ll be looking to buy a further property sooner rather than later. I travel overseas a lot with work but when I am back in the UK for any substantial period of time I’ll be talking with the guys again at haart.”
