Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands (PRWEB UK) 31 December 2012
The Community Gateway CIC this month is launching a new company web site. At the same time to celebrate its new web site and a new year, is offering to the first 10 Local Authority customers to come forward in January 2013, 13 months for the same price as 12 months for one of its primary services, a web based Telecare service 'Gadget Gateway'.
Gadget Gateway is a web based service for Authorities wishing to promote Telecare and Assistive Technology. There are three very simple services.
Service option 1: A quick and simple to install catalogue that contains a range of products to support independent living, which can be purchased privately by Service Users and the public in general. This is the fastest route to having a model suitable to self directed support as this requires almost no input or resource from the authority. Option 1 is available to private and public sector organisations and is a far less expensive route to having an online offer.
Option 2 is a custom-designed catalogue that displays all of the independent living technology your authority (or organisation) offers. This can also be tailored to include simple aids to daily living or even services.
Option 3 is the addition of eCommerce to either of the above two options allows users to quickly and easily purchase products they are browsing. This option also allows the technology to be supplied on a not-for-profit basis or for the surpluses to be reinvested.
Gadget Gateway is provided as a service to local authorities to promote both their own services and to generate sustainable income from what is available within their area with regard to what Telecare and Assistive technology support is available. The Community Gateway franchises the tools necessary and required to achieve this, through licensing the hosting, software, services and branding required to support the above offers on a 'not for profit' basis. Surpluses are reinvested in wider promotion and marketing.
Gadget Gateway is truly a preventative tool as it can be used for signposting well before anyone really considers support from a local authority or the NHS. Gadget Gateway has been featured in NHS Local, Emerald Academic Journal and has been a finalist in the Health Services Journal Awards in the category for Long Term Conditions.
