SmartDebit responds to Bracknell Forest cashless parking system

A new system has been introduced into The Peel Centre this week in a move to bring in cashless parking. Skimped Hill Lane car park no longer uses barriers or requires users to display tickets in their vehicles instead motorists must memorise their vehicle’s number plate and choose between two options – to either pay at the machine or to use a cashless online system by using their debit or credit card.

The new system identifies vehicles by camera as they enter the car park and can then give precise fees depending on time spent parked which can be paid by either method.

This recent change to a cashless option is a similar occurrence throughout the UK, with many local councils choosing to encourage motorists to pay via online schemes in a bid to save money and cut inconvenience and queuing.
