St Margarets, Twickenham, London (PRWeb UK) November 24, 2009

The St Margarets Crown Road Christmas market, with an array of special Christmas gift ideas, stalls and festive activities, opens the St Margarets Christmas Fair at 11.00am.

Throughout the day there will be live music, games, Christmas competitions, a mini funfair, street entertainers and the usual St Margarets Christmas snow storm.

The Mayor will be joining Santa for the St Margarets Christmas Parade along Crown Road at noon, followed by the St Margarets Christmas show at 2pm. This popular extravaganza is organised by local residents and offers a mix of song and dance with a splash of Christmas pantomime fun.

The festivities will draw to a close at 4.00pm with an open-air Christmas carol service led by St Stephens Church.

Simon Chapman, Chair of the St Margarets Traders Association and key coordinator of the event, is hoping for the best Christmas Fair in St Margarets yet:

"The Christmas Fair, now a St Margarets tradition, gets bigger and better every year. This year, as well as the fabulous food offerings, Christmas competitions , Christmas Market, Santa parade, carol singing, surprise celebrity guests. You'll also find examples of the creative talents of some of St Margarets' many artists.

"St Margarets is thriving with every shop in the area now occupied. Christmas shopping in St Margarets has never been better - it is the ideal place to find those special Christmas presents with many unique and handcrafted gifts on offer."

The new My St Margarets website has pages dedicated to the My St Margarets Christmas Fair with competition downloads and exclusive updates for the event. The website has also launched its own Facebook and Twitter pages to keep the local community and traders up-to-date on events and news in the local area.

St Margarets Traders Association:

The traders association also organises the Christmas trees, lights and decorations that help to make Christmas in St Margarets so special.

The St Margarets-branded shopping bag was launched earlier this year and has become the must-have bag of the season with over 1,000 bags sold so far. Look out for yours at one of the many shopping outlets in St Margarets. Shop with pride with your reuseable St Margarets shopping bag. Please look out for the heart logo in St Margarets - and where you have a choice, please shop with the heart.

This month also sees the launch of the new My St Margarets website. The website is being launched following the successful publication of the My St Margarets magazine which has been distributed to over 5,000 homes in the St Margarets area. The magazine has been so well received, including requests for the magazine from Australia, that the St Margarets traders association is planning to publish further editions next year.
