Women in the City Appeals to Business Leaders to Login and Nominate Talented Women for Prestigious Award
London (PRWEB UK) 3 September 2013 -- Women in the City has put out a call to action today to encourage business leaders to nominate an exceptional woman for the annual Women in the City Woman of Achievement Award 2013.
Now in its seventh successful year the Woman of Achievement Award pays tribute to senior female executives who, in addition to fulfilling a demanding role, are making sure that skilled and intelligent women are being supported to remain and progress in the workplace.
Gwen Rhys, CEO of Networking Culture Ltd and Founder of Women in the City said; “Every year we seek women who stand out from the crowd to enter the Woman of Achievement Awards. Summer has brought an initial wave of nominations but we know that there are more women who are eligible for this Award in 2013 who are yet to be nominated.
“We also know that the winner will benefit immensely from the recognition she receives from the Award, as well as the prize offered by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
“Today we need nominations for women who are working at the very top of their profession who already have a significant sphere of influence, and who go the extra mile to actively support and encourage other women within their organisation.”
The Award categories for 2013 are:
• Accountancy
• Built Environment
• Facilities Management
• Financial Services
• Insurance Services
• Legal Services
• Medicine & Healthcare
• Technology
Importantly, applications for the Award close on 20th September 2013 with judging taking place in mid-October. Category winners will be announced in October and will go on to compete for the overall 2013 Woman of Achievement Award, which will be presented by Alderman Fiona Woolf CBE Friday, 29th November at the 11th Annual Women in the City Annual Celebration Lunch held at Plaisterers’ Hall, London.
Each Award category is endorsed by a relevant professional organisation, which helps to promote the awards, provide a Judging Panel, select the Category Winner, and present the Award Certificates. The Award judging panel is chaired by Prof Susan Vinnicombe, OBE, Director, Centre for Developing Women Business Leaders at Cranfield School of Management. The Award sponsors for 2013 include AXA, Google, MITIE, Gather & Gather, with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business as Academic sponsor.
